I guess it is appropriate that mine is the first comment for Mark. Everyone from our class knows that we were best friends and boyfriend and girlfriend. I sure do miss him!

For those that do not know, Mark passed away October 25, 2008 from terminal cancer.

I know so many stories that this space is not large enough! Suffice it to say that it is a wonder that we made it through high school!

Go Wolfpack! Mark was a huge State fan.

I would be happy to answer any questions regarding Mark.

I'm glad Paula posted her memorial because I didn't want to post before she did about Mark. Their bond was AMAZING. They loved each other in a way many of us never have the opportunity to know. Things in their relationship changed through the years...but their love never did.

Mark, Paula and I were inseparable. We rode to school together, talked together every day/night and were together every weekend. When we graduated, we STILL remained close, even though they went to Raleigh and I went to Charlotte. It is truly nothing short of amazing we made it through those years...much less remained friends all these decades.

Mark was one of the funniest and wittiest guys I've ever known. His humor was so dry and subtle. Besides having a fantastic sense of humor, Mark was generous, loving and gentle. When Mark was diagnosed, I never thought of him not being with me/us anymore...it just didn't seem real or possible. Alas, it was not only possible, it did happen. I was fortunate to be with Mark at the end, holding his hand...it was a very bittersweet moment in my life but one I'll always cherish.

Mark, my life is not the same without you and I knew there was no way it would be. I'm so thankful for all the memories and thankful for our decades of love and friendship. Honestly, I cannot imagine what my life would have been without you in it. YOU were my guardian angel in so many instances when we were kids and now you are, again, in Heaven.
